On September 21, 2023, Ambassador Fu Cong, Head of the Chinese Mission to the EU, met with Ambassador Badr Abdelatty, Head of the Egyptian Mission to the EU. They had exchanges of views on China-Egypt relations, and other issues.

Ambassador Fu said that the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Egypt has set an example of solidarity and win-win cooperation among developing countries. China stands ready to deepen Belt and Road cooperation with Egypt to deliver greater benefits to the two peoples. China congratulates Egypt on its entry into BRICS and hopes to maintain bilateral communication and coordination on international and regional issues.

Mr. Badr spoke highly of China-Egypt relations by noting the fruitful bilateral Belt and Road cooperation, as well as the common interests and similar positions between the two countries on many international issues. Egypt is ready to further join hands with China in international and multilateral settings.

They also exchanged views on China-EU relations, Egypt-EU relations, and other issues.
