On January 29, Ambassador Fu Cong, Head of the Chinese Mission to the EU met with Mohamed Taha Mustafa, Head of the Yemeni Mission to Belgium and the EU. They had in-depth exchanges of views on China-Yemen relations, the situation in the Red Sea, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Ambassador Fu noted the traditional friendship between China and Yemen. He said that over more than half a century since the diplomatic ties began, China has always firmly supported Yemen in securing national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and provided help to Yemen as much as its ability permits. China always takes an objective and fair stance on the Yemen issue and supports the Yemen peace process. China is prepared to work with the international community to facilitate the early realization of Yemen’s lasting peace.

Ambassador Mustafa extended Yemen’s gratitude for the long-term and selfless assistance offered by the Chinese government, and its appreciation for China’s active efforts to advance the peace process of Yemen and the Middle East. He looked forward to seeing China make more positive contributions to the lasting peace and stability in Yemen and the Middle East.
