On March 11, 2024, Ambassador Fu Cong, Head of the Chinese Mission to the EU, met with Michael Clauss, Permanent Representative of Germany to the EU. They had in-depth exchanges of views on China-EU relations and issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador Fu noted that China attaches great importance to China-Germany and China-EU relations. In 2023, the 24th China-EU Summit was successfully held. The China-EU relations have shown a good momentum of consolidation and growth, and the China-EU high-level dialogues in the strategic, economic and trade, green and climate, and digital fields have produced rich outcomes. We hope that Germany will continue to play an active role and work with China to promote the stable and healthy development of the relations.

Mr. Clauss spoke highly of the progress made in China-EU relations. He said that Germany values relations with China and stands ready to work with China to facilitate the sound growth of China-Germany and China-EU relations.
