On March 13, 2024, Ambassador Fu Cong, Head of the Chinese Mission to the EU, met with Stephan Klement, EU Special Envoy for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation and Special Advisor on the Iranian Nuclear Issue.

Ambassador Fu stated that there is good cooperation on disarmament and non-proliferation between China and the EU, and China is willing to ensure continuous communication with the EU on controlling small arms and light weapons and promoting the resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue.

Mr. Klement said that the EU attaches importance to China’s critical role in disarmament and nonproliferation, appreciates China’s positive contribution to the resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue, and stands ready to continue enhancing the coordination and cooperation with China.
