On March 15, 2024, Ambassador Fu Cong, Head of the Chinese Mission to the EU, met with Gerassimos Thomas, Director-General in the Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union at the European Commission (DG TAXUD). They had in-depth exchanges of views on China-EU customs cooperation, the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), Global Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) Conference, among other issues. The two sides spoke highly of the progress made in the cooperation in various fields, and are willing to actively advance cooperation and dialogue in such areas as customs and taxation, so as to work for new progress in China-EU relations.
