August 1, 2020 marks the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Over the 93 years, the PLA has fought many battles and is never afraid of sacrifice, striding forward from victory to victory. Over the past year, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the people's armed forces have thoroughly implemented Xi Jinping thought on strengthening the military, resolutely safeguarded China's sovereignty, security and development interests. China's armed forces have responded faithfully to the call for a community with a shared future for mankind, actively fulfilled their international obligations as the armed forces of a major country, comprehensively promoted international military cooperation for the new era, and striven for a better world of lasting peace and common security. Facing this unknown, unexpected, and devastating pandemic, the PLA took immediate action at the order of the CPC. They have played an important role and made outstanding contribution in the endeavor to contain the outbreak.
To celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the PLA, Chinese Mission to the EU set up a special column to show the PLA struggle course over the past 93 years, especially the dauntless efforts in fighting COVID-19 this year.
