More Leaders of Foreign Governments and International Organizations Express Their Condolence to China on the Earthquake Disaster in Sichuan (VII)

On May 13, 2008, some leaders of foreign governments and international organizations sent messages to President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao, or in other ways, to extend their deep condolence on the devastating earthquake in Wenchuan, Sichuan and their support to the efforts made by the Chinese government in disaster relief and rescue. They believed that the Chinese government and people would certainly conquer the disaster.

Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom expressed his deep sorrow for the victims and extended his deep sympathy and sincere condolence to the families of the victims.

Luxemburg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker expressed his deepest sympathy over the earthquake disaster, extended his most sincere condolence to the Chinese people and the families of the victims and conveyed the sympathies of the Luxemburg people to the Chinese people.

Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme extended his most sincere condolence to the Chinese people and expressed his deep sympathy and sorrow to those who lost their families, especially those parents who lost their children.

Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen extended his deep condolence to the Chinese people, especially to the families of the victims and other people affected by the earthquake. He said that Denmark is willing to provide any assistance for the disaster relief efforts of China at any moment.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed his deep sorrow to the victims and extended his most sincere condolence to the families of the victims. He said that the Polish people are in solidarity with the Chinese people during the tough time. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski added that Poland is willing to stand together with China to conquer this calamity.

President James Michel of Seychelles extended his deepest sympathy and condolence to the Chinese government, the Chinese people and the families of the victims. He wished China success in the earthquake relief and rescue. At this hard time the people of Seychelles will firmly stay together with the Chinese people.

Nigerian President Umaru Yar'Adua felt deep grief for the tremendous casualties and property loss caused by earthquake and expressed his deepest sympathy and strong support to the friendly Chinese government and people. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Nigerian foreign ministry also extended his condolence to China.

President Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal expressed his sincere condolence to the families of the victims and the friendly Chinese people and prayed for the dead. He wished the injured a quick recovery.

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika expressed his deep sorrow and condolence to the victims and their families.

Benin President Yayi Boni extended his sincere condolence to the Chinese people and expressed his deep sympathy and firm support to the families of the victims. He wished the injured a quick recovery and hoped that the people in the disaster-stricken area will resume their normal lives as soon as possible.

Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa, Vice President Rupiah Banda and Foreign Minister Kabinga Pande respectively expressed their sincere condolence to the Chinese government and people. They believed that the Chinese people would certainly conquer the challenge and rebuild their homeland.

Guinean Prime Minister Lansana Kouyate, on behalf of Guinean President Conté, the Guinean government and the Guinean people, expressed sincere sorrow to the Chinese government, the Chinese people and the families of the victims. He believed that China will surely conquer the current difficulty. He also expressed that Guinea will always stand together with China.

Dominican Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Roosevelt Skerrit expressed that the Chinese government has responded promptly and taken immediate measures and effective actions in face of the sudden disaster. The Chinese government has showed great courage, confidence and self-help ability in the disaster relief efforts. He believed that the people in the disaster-hit area will surely conquer the difficulty and rebuild their homeland under the strong and powerful leadership of the Chinese government and the Chinese leaders.

Philippine Foreign Minister Alberto Romulo felt deep grief for the heavy casualties and property loss caused by earthquake and expressed his deepest sympathy to the families of the victims. He believed that the Chinese government and people are strong and can surely conquer the difficulty.

The Palestinian office in LAS (League of Arab States) sent a message of condolence to express the condolence to the people in disaster-hit area. They believed that the Chinese people can surely go through this hard time.

World Bank President Robert B. Zoellick expressed his deep sympathy and sorrow over the deadly earthquake disaster in Sichuan and extended his sincere condolence to the Chinese people. He expressed that the World Bank is willing to support the disaster relief and rebuilding efforts of the Chinese government by various means at any moment.

On the same day, Albanian Ambassador to China Maxhun Peka, Somalia's Ambassador to China Mohammed Ahmed Awil and Bahamian embassy in China, on behalf of their governments and people, extended sympathy and condolence to the Chinese government and people and expressed sorrow to those who died in the earthquake.
