The International Community Extends Condolence to the Chinese Government on the Earthquake Disaster in Sichuan (XI)

A number of foreign governments and leaders as well as heads of international organizations extended deep condolence on the massive earthquake disaster hitting Wenchuan county of Sichuan province by sending telegraphs to President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao or through other ways and expressed confidence that the Chinese government and people will ultimately conquer the disaster.

President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni extended sincere condolence to the Chinese people and said that the people of Uganda will condole with the families of the victims in the loss of their loved ones.

President of Sudan Omer Hassan Ahmed Elbashir expressed deep grief over the major injuries and losses of life and property caused by the earthquake and sincere condolence to the Chinese government and people and the families of the victims.

The secretary general of Papua New Guinea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Immigration also sent condolence to the Chinese government.

Prime Minister of Greece Costas Karamanlis expressed sincere condolence to the families of the victims and the disaster-hit people and said that at this difficult moment the Greek people stand side by side with the Chinese people.

Chair of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council Charles Morrison extended deep sympathy and condolence to the disaster-hit people and indicated will of strengthening cooperation with China on disaster relief.
