2022-05-23 09:00

On the morning of May 20, Minister Peng Gang of the Chinese Mission to the EU attended the 2022 General Meeting of the China Chamber of Commerce to the European Union  (CCCEU) upon invitation and delivered a keynote speech. Also present at the meeting was Chairman Xu Haifeng of the CCCEU, all members of the Board of Directors of the CCCEU and representatives of more than 100 member companies. Zhou Chunlin, second-level inspector of the Department of Outward Investment and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce of China, gave a video speech.

Peng said, amid once-in-century changes and the global pandemic as well as the Russia-Ukraine conflict, global economy faces strong headwinds and Chinese companies in Europe also face growing uncertainties. However, China-EU economic and trade cooperation has maintained a strong momentum and continued to play a key pillar in bilateral relations. This is attributed to the hard work of Chinese businesses.

Peng pointed out that in the increasingly complex external environment, it is not sustainable for businesses to develop on their own. The CCCEU is not only a reliable and important partner for Chinese businesses in Europe, but also a platform for cooperation. To establish itself, the CCCEU last year made new progress in its work and served as a good example for overseas business associations. In the future, it is hoped that the CCCEU will, bearing in mind China-EU economic and trade cooperation and the interests of Chinese companies, continue its work and live up to the expectations of Chinese companies.
