On March 26, 2024, Ambassador Fu Cong, Head of the Chinese Mission to the EU, paid a farewell visit to Niclas Kvarnström, Managing Director for Asia and Pacific at European External Action Service (EEAS).

Ambassador Fu took stock of the positive results brought by dialogue and cooperation between China and the EU in various fields over the past one year and more and thanked Mr. Kvarnström and the Asia and Pacific Department for providing support to and assistance in the work of the Mission and himself. Ambassador Fu said that China’s EU policy has been stable for a long time, and we see Europe as an independent force in a multi-polar world. China hopes to work with the EU to enhance exchange and dialogue, deepen practical cooperation, and bolster the consolidation and growth of bilateral relations.

Mr. Kvarnström appreciated Ambassador Fu’s contribution to the growth of EU-China relations, and said that the EU would like to enhance communication and cooperation with China and promote the steady development of the relations.
